Last week I lost a dear friend. His name was Savinelli and he was from Denmark. I met him in New York at a boutique on Avenue of The Americas. We had many adventures together and he helped me get through some tough times.
In Washington while Marian and I were on our way to Vancouver we stopped at a bank to exchange some money. While Marian was in the bank I hung out with Savinelli on the grass. Then Marian and I left, Leaving Savinelli behind. You will be missed brother and you will not be easily replaced.

canada+music

This Morning Marian and I arrived in Anchorage, AK at 9am after driving about twenty hours straight out of Canada. The trip was amazing and I can't wait to share all the photos with you. I will be dropping off the film tomorrow so later this week check back for photos from the trip.

One thing I would like to mention about the road trip is Marian introduced me to an amazing Dallas, TX artist, Kristina Morland. Her music helped keep us calm during the rough drive through the alcan and you can't thank a musician enough for that. below is a link to her myspace where you can sample her music.

seattle-alcan with marian call

marian call project #1
2007. marian outside of where we first met.

Yesterday, I flew into Seattle to start a one week drive up the Alcan with Marian Call. Marian is moving back up too Alaska for the next ten months. Our plan is to leave on Monday the 22 and be home by the 28th. On the way we are planning on hanging a hard right to check out Banff and Edmonton, Canada for Marian's future gigs.

Cameras.
I brought my hasselblad 501cm+80mm lens, leica m6+50mm and the rollei 35 with flash. I am so excited to shoot only film for the next week! Wish us luck! and I hope none of the film got ruined from the xray's at the airport. There will be a glaziers stop in Seattle for sure before we hit the road.

Sweet.

jones

jones.

A couple days ago my friend and skateboarder Preston Pollard called me to let me know that my photo was on his Jones soda bottle. Preston is sponsored by Jones soda and he sent them some of the photos we took the month before. To my surprise they used it. Pretty neat.

Earlier this week designers Roland Adams, Jesse Arneson, Christopher Thomas, Nando Drabik and myself hiked Kasugi Ridge in Denali National Park. We hiked 27 miles in four days. For myself it was the longest hike I had ever done.
With no cell reception and being cut off from the rest of the world it was the perfect vacation. I had never felt so relaxed in my life. All the boys left today {saturday} and they will be missed.
