just picked up the film.

Marian and Colins stay in Anchorage was far to short but we were able to enjoy their company for a solid day. I knew I missed them but as soon as I saw those two goofs I realized I really missed them! We were able to fit in a photo shoot too! I have been saving this spot so when Marian told me that she could squeeze in a quick photo shoot, I knew exactly where I wanted to take her.
Leah came along and took some behind the scenes photos so I will try and snatch those and get up here. I will also try and post my film form this shoot in the next couple days.
More Marian news soon.

bp

I honestly love shooting for bp. bp and Marketing Solutions have only been good to me. But sometimes the shoots can be boring. Like today, I was shooting a meeting and you can only take so many photos of a speaker behind a podium. But! you can always make your shoots fun. While I was crouched on the side of the stage I found myself staring at the floor in boredom. I loved the carpet so I started taking photos of it. LOL. I just hope the clients didn't see me pointing my camera at the ground and shooting! I love photography. :)

Fairbanks st

A couple days ago I photographed Phillip Blanchet of the band Pamyua. Phillip and I have been talking about photographing for over a year now and we finally made time to do it. Phillip is getting his dreads cut off soon for his wedding so we wanted to have some documentation of how awesome they are before he cuts them off.
The shoot was fun. We ran around downtown with few things in mind to specifically photograph. We started off at the freeze Project on the Park Strip and made our way to Fairbanks st to a wall I have been wanting to use as a background. It warmed up for us that day but with the warmth came the snow. Crazy AK.

freeze project photographic workshop

Today myself and four other Anchorage photographers taught a two hour photo workshop for the Freeze Project. We met at the Museum for about a half hour to introduce ourselves and then made our way out into the 2˙ cold. It was vicious.
About fifteen people showed up to the workshop which was very nice. We talked about composition and how to shoot in the cold. In the end I thought it was very informative and enjoyable.

urban greens- squares show

This month Oscar, Scott, Will and myself have a show up at Urban Greens in downtown Anchorage, AK. The theme of the show is squares and black & white. It will be up until the end of the month.
Oscar did a wonderful job promoting the show. The Opening was packed the whole time, so thanks to everyone who braved the cold and made it out! Also thanks to my brother Roland for designing the beautiful show cards.

film!

On Thursday I had the pleasure of photographing one of Alaska very talented musicians Matthew Dean Herman. It was very fun, we just drove around looking for the right backgrounds. We probably spent more time in the car than out doors though, it was at least -10˙ out. I should be able to pick up the film from this shoot on Tuesday! Happy New Years!
